Gina Milazzo, a junior from Greenwood Lake NY, is 17 years old and on her way to a promising and successful golf career. Gina, a junior and Honors student at the Warwick Valley High School, resides at home with her parents and sisters in Greenwood Lake, NY.
Gina, who has been golfing since the age of eight, showed an interest in golf at a young age and never lost her enthusiasm. She has already participated in over 100 tournaments since 2017, and has had 80 top five finishes, along with 28 victories. Gina currently holds the OCIAA Section IX Title after claiming it in 2021 and defending the title in 2022. and 2023 She led Section IX Golf at the State Championships and finished tied for 20th in the state.
Gina is a member of the Warwick Valley High School Girls Varsity Golf Team and has participated in several golf tours such as the American Junior Golf Tour, National Junior Golf Association Tour, Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Tour, USSSA Junior Golf Tour, and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. In 2020 she earned a spot on the North Team for the prestigious NJGA All-Star Cup and her team was victorious. Gina's handicap is currently a 3.6.
“My dreams and future plans are to continue golf forever, to be professional golf instructor one day, and to teach golf to golfers around the world,” said Gina.
Milazzo has attended the Chuck Wike Golf School S.C., Golf School of Myrtle Beach, The Leadbetter Academy at Crystal Springs and the Hudson Valley Junior Golf Academy, where she also volunteers her time.
“I love to play golf because it is a lot more than just a game. I get to travel to many new places, meet so many different friends from around the world and learn so much about myself. I also love that golf is independent, when you lose it’s no one’s fault but your own. When you win – YOU win – and you did the work,” said Gina.
During the week and on weekends Gina is competing, practicing, or reviewing the rules of the game. She can often be found on her home course at the Hickory Hill Golf Course in Warwick, New York practicing hard or enjoying a game of golf with dad or with friends. Gina also is a volunteer at her local golf academy.
